The Manchester-Essex Junior-Senior High School is a public school located in Manchester, Massachusetts. It is open to any Manchester or Essex resident. The new school was opened on September 2, 2009.
Most teams have made it to the state tournaments. The football team won the Division 4A Super Bowl in 2008 over Tri-County, 36-6. Field hockey, basketball, hockey, and tennis have also been a part of state tournaments. Other sports, like sailing, have also been successful. In 2011 the school won the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild Drama Festival State Championship performing The Complete History of America (abridged). The team nickname is the Hornets.
The school is also renowned for its robotics team members of the FRC Robotics League.
Alumni include Sprague Grayden, an actress who was in the seventh season of 24, Josh Gates, the host of Destination Truth, and Abby Burke who sang for The Dean's List
